As Ukrinform reports, Donald Trump stated this in an interview with Axios.
“We are not rushing things yet… – he said. – We are just semi-negotiating with them. We are just watching Iran with its huge inflation and the fact that it has no money.”
According to Trump, Iran “is in a very bad economic state” and does not have the funds to pay its military, and the US naval blockade has deepened the regime’s economic crisis.
At the same time, the US President noted that due to the fall in oil prices to $75 per barrel, American consumers are experiencing less negative impact from the war.
“Everything will be resolved. Everything always gets resolved. It’s like a chess game,” added the head of the White House.

According to the publication, Iran, Oman, and the United States have agreed on the conditions for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, but the announcement of the agreement has been postponed for several days. Within the framework of the new arrangement, Iran is to gain partial control over vessel traffic in the strait, which was not the case before the war began.
Mediators from Qatar and Pakistan expected the agreement to be announced on Wednesday, but Tehran’s positions have changed.
US officials are reporting increasing disagreements among the Iranian leadership. One camp, led by President Masoud Pezeshkian, fears economic collapse and believes an agreement with the US is necessary. Another, led by the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ahmad Vahidi, opposes any concessions.

On Saturday, the head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, announced new conditions for opening the strait, in addition to those agreed upon within the framework of the Omani-mediated deal. A few weeks ago, these demands concerned the conclusion of a nuclear deal. Now, Iran is presenting them as conditions solely for opening the Strait of Hormuz.
US officials reported that a week ago, Trump was leaning towards resuming large-scale hostilities against Iran, but has now been persuaded to reduce the level of escalation.
Against this backdrop, approximately 8 million barrels of oil are exported daily from the Persian Gulf through the southern passage of the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with the American military. The US will try to increase oil export volumes until an agreement is reached, the publication notes.

As Ukrinform reported, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, announced a set of demands to the United States on Saturday, which, according to him, must be met to open the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that the US must lift the naval blockade and sanctions, withdraw its troops from the region around Iran, pay reparations, unfreeze Iranian assets, and cease attacks on Tehran’s allies and threats against the country.
