During the night of July 4th, Russia launched a massive assault on the Sumy region, utilizing aerial bombs and drones.
Attack on Sumy July 4
In the early hours of July 4th, Russian forces continued their destructive campaign against the Sumy region. The regional capital itself suffered the most severe damage.
This information was reported by the Sumy Oblast Police.
In total, 4 individuals lost their lives, including a child. An additional 45 people, including 9 children, sustained injuries as a result of the enemy’s attacks on the Sumy region.
Sumy
Sumy bore the brunt of the attacks. Following a series of strikes involving drones and aerial bombs, four people perished, among them a child.
“Medics attempted to save a 5-year-old girl at the site of the Russian strike. Unfortunately, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful – the child died. Her mother, a 34-year-old woman, died alongside her. The woman’s elder daughter is also in the hospital, with injuries of moderate severity,” stated the Head of the Oblast Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.
The Russian forces also took the life of a 61-year-old man.
Thirty-eight civilians, including seven children, suffered injuries of varying degrees of severity.
“In the hospital, medical personnel managed to resuscitate a man whose heart had stopped. He is currently in critical condition. A young woman is also in extremely serious condition,” added the Head of the Oblast Military Administration.
Apartment buildings and private homes, gas transportation system facilities, a medical institution, schools, shops, and 12 vehicles were damaged. Two gas stations were completely destroyed.
Other Settlements in the Oblast
Settlements in the Sumy, Romny, Okhtyrka, and Shostka districts were subjected to enemy fire. The adversary extensively employed guided aerial bombs, strike drones, artillery, and mortars.
In Okhtyrka, two individuals – a 48-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man – were injured as a result of a strike by an enemy drone.
In the Nudryhaivka community, the infrastructure of a gas station was completely demolished following an attack by five strike drones. A 33-year-old woman sustained injuries. Another woman, aged 50, sought medical assistance due to an acute stress reaction.
We remind you that during this night, the Russian army struck Sumy, with a high-rise building at the epicenter of the impact. Among the deceased were a 34-year-old mother and her 5-year-old child.
