This was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during the “Ramstein” meeting on April 15th in Berlin.
In 2026, NATO countries are expected to contribute $60 billion in military aid to Ukraine, in addition to the loan funds from the European Union.

He emphasized that “any funds provided through the EU loan for Ukraine’s support should be in addition to what allies are contributing on a bilateral basis.”
We need to focus funding on priorities — air defense, drones, and long-range ammunition. These are the priorities.
He reminded that in 2026, the PURL mechanism for the procurement of American weapons by NATO member states for Ukraine will continue to be in effect.
The head of the Alliance also drew attention to the disproportionate distribution of expenses for supporting Ukraine among the member states.
Looking ahead to the NATO summit in Ankara, we also need to make progress in ensuring a fairer and more predictable approach to supporting Ukraine’s defense efforts… This is truly an issue: too few countries are bearing too great a burden, and we must address this. Supporting Ukraine’s fight is more important than ever.
