President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is convinced that after the situation in the Middle East stabilizes, the negotiation process between the Russian Federation and the USA will resume.
The head of state stated that trilateral meetings between the USA and Russia are currently postponed because the priorities of American diplomacy have changed. But at the same time, he is confident that the negotiation process will resume later. The politician made such a statement in an interview with the Italian television and radio company RAI.
Volodymyr Zelensky said that America’s attention is currently focused on the situation in the Middle East. In particular, the Ukrainian president positively assesses the White House’s efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Iran. The Ukrainian president emphasized that “support for Ukraine, including the supply of weapons, must continue.”
“First of all, I congratulate them: this will facilitate the resolution of the energy crisis. In any case, there can be no crisis regarding support for Ukraine with weapons supplies. We hope for this,” he said.
Therefore, the Ukrainian side expects that after the situation in the Middle East stabilizes, the issue of countering Russian aggression will return to the active agenda of trilateral diplomatic meetings.
“But we will start them over…” said Volodymyr Zelensky.
When asked about his readiness to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Zelensky once again clarified his position.
“I am ready to meet with Putin, of course, not in Moscow. If he is ready to meet with me, then there are many places for that,” he said.
