The opening of borders for men after the war will not lead to a massive and uncontrolled outflow of the population, although another 1.5–2 million citizens may leave the country.
This assessment was made by Ruslan Chorniy, chief expert on financial sector reform at the Economic Expert Platform, on the air of Den.LIVE.
According to him, the vast majority of Ukrainians who intended to emigrate have already done so earlier.
“Those who wanted to, left. There is still a part of people who would also like to leave and currently do not see such an opportunity,” the analyst explained the situation with potential migration.
At the same time, Ruslan Chorniy drew attention to another significant problem for the state – the reduction in the number of economically active citizens who ensure the filling of the state budget.
“At one time, calculations were made: there are about a million real businessmen who pay taxes and on whom the budget is based,” he emphasized, outlining the current burden on the country’s financial system.
