Ukrinform reports on this.
The session will commence at 3:00 PM Eastern American time (9:00 PM Kyiv time). The United States presides over the Security Council in March, so the meeting will be led by US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
Reports are expected from the UN Secretariat by the Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo, as well as a representative from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. They are to present an assessment of the security and humanitarian situation in Ukraine amidst Russian attacks.
The meeting is convened in the wake of intensified shelling of Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure, leading to destruction and civilian casualties.
Previously, Ukrainian diplomats emphasized that a just peace is impossible without holding Russia accountable for war crimes.
